Welcome back to another episode of "YOUR Dream Life." I was recently reflecting on how quickly this year has passed, and though it's only May, I've already begun to think about the next six months. In the Dream Life community, we usually plan June for reflection and planning, but I start earlier because I thoroughly enjoy the process. Reflecting allows me to savour the last six months and think about what I might do differently in the next.

In our Mid-Year Reset episode today, we'll explore how to review the past six months and prepare for success in the upcoming ones. Whether you're meeting your goals or feeling a bit behind, this episode will guide your reset.

Let's dive into it:

Let's start with some reflection. The first step in our mid-year reset is taking stock of what we've accomplished so far.

Here’s what you can do:

Reflect on your achievements and challenges. Grab your journal and a pen, and start by writing down your key achievements from the past six months.

What are you proud of?

What milestones did you hit?

Reflect on the challenges as well.

What obstacles came up? How did you handle them?

Understanding these can teach us a lot about our resilience and resourcefulness, and most importantly, what to do differently for the next six months.

Revisit your dreams and goals. Pull out the list of dreams and goals you set at the beginning of the year.

What have you progressed on? Celebrate those wins, no matter how small!

For the dreams and goals you haven’t touched, ask yourself why. Was it a lack of time? Interest? Resources?

Deciding whether to modify them or let them go is crucial.

Now that we’ve looked back, it’s time to look forward. Resetting for the next six months is not just about continuing; it’s about adjusting and setting intentions that resonate with where you are right now.

Here are some tips:

Set realistic expectations. Be honest about what you can realistically achieve in the next six months. Sometimes, less is more if it means you can focus more deeply on the most important dreams and goals.

Break it down. Break your dreams or goals into smaller, actionable steps and focus on the next quarter to start with. Schedule these steps into your calendar and make sure you always have actions put in your calendar weekly or ideally daily if they are important to you.

When you see what you need to do each week or month for the quarter, it becomes less daunting and more manageable.

Incorporate new habits. Identify one or two new habits that could make a significant difference in your progress and support your dreams and goals.

Maybe it’s waking up an hour earlier to work on your dreams and goals, or perhaps it’s learning to say no to tasks that don’t align with your priorities. Introduce these habits slowly into your routine, I like to focus on one habit each month and track your progress. I track them in my habit club as I find being accountable for my daily habits makes a big difference in following through.

Remember, a mid-year reset is also about looking at your mindset. It’s about embracing the possibility that the next six months can be your best yet, regardless of how the year started.

Cultivate a positive mindset. Practice gratitude. Start or end your day by listing three things you’re grateful for. Stay flexible. Be willing to pivot or adjust your plans as new opportunities or challenges arise.

Seek inspiration and support. Surround yourself with people who inspire and motivate you. Join my coaching program for June if you want to be around like-minded people that will plan out their next six months and inspire you.
