Is 2026 Going to Be Your Year? How to say Yes and Design It...

by Kristina Karlsson
Why 2026 doesn’t need more resolutions - it needs you
As we approach a new year, I love asking one simple question:
Is 2026 going to be your year?
Not just a slightly better, slightly busier version of the last one. I mean a year you consciously design. A year where you’re more awake, more intentional, and more you.
I don’t say this to add pressure. I say it as an invitation.
Life is short. Beautiful, unpredictable, sometimes messy - but short. The years roll by, seasons shift, children grow, loved ones age… and in the middle of it all, we grow too.
If you’ve quietly been telling yourself “I’ll start later” or “I’ll focus on my dreams when things calm down,” this is your gentle reminder:
“One day” is not a day on the calendar.
You deserve more than a life lived on autopilot. You deserve a life you love.
A life that feels meaningful to you - whatever that looks like.
Your future self is calling from December 2026
Let’s do a little exercise I shared on the podcast.
Imagine it’s December 2026.
You’re somewhere peaceful with a cup of tea and your journal. The year is coming to an end, and you feel proud, grounded and deeply alive.
Ask yourself:
- What made 2026 such a meaningful year?
- What did I start?
- What did I stop?
- What did I say a brave “yes” to?
- Where did I finally choose me?
Maybe you set boundaries for the first time.
Maybe you prioritised your wellbeing.
Maybe you finally committed to your dream business, a creative project, deeper relationships, or financial freedom.
Whatever comes up for you in this little vision is gold. Your future self is whispering guidance.
Capture those whispers in your journal.
The power of choosing your Top 3 Dreams for 2026
One of the most powerful pieces of the Dream Life method is choosing just three dreams for the year.
Not 10.
Not 50.
Just three.
Three is magic. Three gives you:
- Clarity - you know what truly matters.
- Focus - your time and energy have direction.
- Momentum - small daily steps actually add up.
Here’s how to start:
Step 1 - What do you want more of?
Ask yourself:
“What do I want more of in 2026?”
Not just “success” or “health”. Go deeper.
Do you crave more peace? Creative expression? Confidence? Adventure? Connection? Financial ease? Space? Joy?
Make a big messy list in your journal. Let your heart speak first. You can tidy later.
Step 2 - What do you want less of?
We don’t create a lighter life only by adding. We create it by releasing.
What do you want less of next year?
Stress? Rushing? Comparison? Physical or mental clutter? People-pleasing? Self-doubt? Living for others’ expectations?
Write it all down. This is you quietly reclaiming your life.
Step 3 - Choose your Top 3 Dreams
Now, from everything you’ve written, ask:
“If I could only choose three dreams to focus on in 2026, which ones would have the biggest positive impact on my life?”
Circle them. Sit with them. Make sure they feel exciting, a little stretchy, but still possible with support and planning.
These become your Top 3 Dreams for 2026 - your compass for the year ahead.
From wishful thinking to a Dream Roadmap
Dreams fade when they stay in your head. They come alive when you write them down and break them into steps.
This is where a simple Dream Roadmap makes such a difference.
For each of your Top 3 Dreams, ask:
- What does success look like by December 2026?
- What would I love to have done by the end of each quarter?
- What is one small step I can take this month?
Breaking your dreams down like this turns “someday” into something you can gently move towards every week.
Inside my Dream Life Coaching Program we do this together - step by step - so you’re not left to figure it all out alone.

Habits: the quiet heroes behind your dreams
Your dreams won’t happen because you have one big burst of motivation in January.
They happen because you create small, loving, consistent habits that support them.
In my own life, and in our coaching community, we work with one key idea:
“Intensity is exciting, but consistency is what changes your life.”
Choose one habit each month that directly supports one of your Top 3 Dreams. For example:
- Dream: Feel healthy and energised → Habit: 10-minute daily walk.
- Dream: Write a book → Habit: 15 minutes of writing, three times a week.
- Dream: Calm, organised home → Habit: 10-minute evening tidy.
Tiny is fine. Tiny is powerful. Tiny is sustainable.
Why you don’t need to do 2026 alone
We’re not meant to do life alone - and we’re definitely not meant to do our dreams alone.
Our brains are wired for community and accountability. When we are surrounded by people who are moving forward, we move forward too.
That’s why I created the Dream Life Coaching Program and our beautiful community. It gives you:
- A safe space where your dreams are taken seriously.
- Guidance and structure to choose and shape your Top 3 Dreams.
- Monthly focus on helpful habits.
- Live sessions, journaling prompts and ongoing support.
If you feel a bit stuck, lost, or unsure where to start, consider this your invitation to get support. You can learn more and join us here:

To summarise, here are five key insights from the episode to carry into the new year:
- “One day” isn’t a real date. If you want 2026 to be different, the decision happens now - not when life magically calms down.
- Your future self is a powerful guide. Imagining yourself at the end of 2026 helps you see what truly matters.
- Choosing your Top 3 Dreams changes everything. Three dreams give you clarity, focus and momentum.
- Your Dream Roadmap and habits do the heavy lifting. Written dreams + broken-down steps + small habits = real change.
- You don’t have to do it alone. Support, coaching and community make your dreams feel possible - and sustainable.
Most of all, remember this:
You are the only one who can decide if 2026 will be your year.
I hope you’ll choose yes - and start taking beautiful, simple steps towards a life you truly love.
