    TRANSCRIPT:

Hi there and welcome back to another episode.

Today I want to talk about something I'm really passionate about, and that is the power of having a morning ritual. I know I'm not alone about being passionate about this because this is the most frequent question that I get when I run my workshops, how to create an inspiring morning ritual.

So I'm really excited about talking about that today. We all have morning rituals, but not everyone have intentionally set their morning rituals and not everyone starts the day in a calm, intentional way. And of course there is not one. Morning ritual that fits all, like everything in life, we are all different.

The number one tip when it comes to starting a morning ritual is to start doing something you love and can't wait to wake up to each morning. When I share this, a lot of people reply back with saying that they need to exercise, they may have children that needs them, and that is all true. It. And that is why we need to start with something you love doing when it comes to create a morning ritual, because if you do that, you are more likely to stick with it.

So how do you do this when you already have a full morning? As with everything I share on this podcast, the key is to start small, choose one thing that you will be excited about. All look forward to do in the morning. This can be something really small and just be something that takes a few minutes. And if you BC and have a very full schedule, I think it's even more important to do this because it would have such an impact on your life.

And also on the day ahead, I know this myself because I started being intentional in the morning when I had young kids. When you have young kids and are working, the morning can often feel hectic and you can start the wrong way. So I believe that parents with young kids should consider this even if they most likely don't feel like this is the right time to start a morning ritual.

When you start a morning ritual in a calm and positive way, it has such an impact on the rest of the day. And if you start small, you can definitely do it, no matter how busy your mornings feel. So here are some tips. Tip number one, take some time to think about your dream morning. What would that look like?

I know this may feel completely remote to have a dream morning right now, and I get it, but all you need to do is start thinking about. If you could have your perfect dream morning, what would that look like? For me, that is starting early because I love my mornings and I like starting with meditation to get into a calm mindset.

I also like start with connecting with myself and not the outside world as soon as I wake up. I know most people start with looking at their phone And that to me is getting influenced by the outside world versus my own world. First, there are plenty of time in the next 24 hours to get to that too, but not in the morning for me.

Then I like to do my three morning pages where I write three pages in my journal about whatever is on my mind. It's often a mixed bag of thoughts, ideas, and challenges I need to solve. It's like thinking on paper and something I have done for a long time now. And it's something I look forward to every single morning.

And I feel like it's actually a lifesaver for me. I sort so many of my challenges out in the morning on my morning pages. Then I go for a walk or run in nature. This is often the favorite part of my whole day. I love getting out early. It's quiet and I get to see the sunrise, connect with nature and think and also be inspired for the day ahead.

When I get back, it's all about family, spending time with them and helping them get ready for school. Once they're out of the house, I have a quiet coffee for five to 10 minutes where I just sit and it's a chance to just be. B. This probably doesn't sound like a big deal, but it's very rare where we just sit and do absolutely nothing.

And it's a wonderful thing to do every morning and something I really look forward to. So I just shared my dream morning, and you may be thinking this is so boring. And that is the thing. Our dream mornings will be different. for everyone. Maybe going to your local coffee shop is part of your dream morning or getting to the gym so you know it's done for the day.

The key is to do something that you are excited about. Tip number two, start small. If you currently have young kids or a demanding project at work, perhaps maybe your dream morning isn't possible right now. And that is probably very likely for most of you, but all you need is to start small. Choose one thing that you want to do just for a few minutes and start with that.

The thing is when you start small, you're more likely to do it. And once you get into a routine and doing it daily and you love it, you are more to do it for longer. And once you manage that, you can then add other things as well. Tip number three, get up a little bit earlier. This is probably not what you want to hear, but if you are able just to get up a little bit earlier, so you feel you got the time to do something you love, you will soon have it part of your new routine.

I'm not saying hours earlier, maybe it's just a few minutes to start with, and then you can get up earlier again. when you are ready for it. The thing is, once you create a morning ritual that you can't wait to wake up to, it's so much easier to get up. And I love my morning so much that I can't wait to go to bed so I can get to my morning ritual, which leads me to number four.

The morning ritual starts the night before. This is really important for anyone who is starting with creating their dream morning ritual. If you can prepare. The night before, this could mean getting your running shoes ready or the journal in a place where you can find it, or have coffee beans at home, if that is part of your morning ritual.

If you can prepare the night before, the morning will be calm and you're more likely to do it. And most importantly, Stick to it. I hope you are excited about creating a morning ritual. And if you want some support, this is what we will be focusing on in April in the Dream Life coaching program. It's one of my favorite months because I love my morning rituals so much, and it makes such a difference to your whole life when you start your morning right.

So I want to help you feel the same. I will link to it in the show notes, or you can just head over to your dreamlifestartshere. com. And you can now join a monthly, so you can just try one month. And if it's for you, you can continue. And if it's not, you can cancel. And I will also link to our morning ritual journal as that could be a helpful tool too.

Please let me know how you go in the Dream Life Facebook group. I will link to that as well. As always, I'll be back on Monday with a new Monday morning motivation podcast. I will see you then.
