#401 - Monday Motivation: “The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.”

Welcome to another short but empowering episode of Monday Motivation, giving you a dose of inspiration as you head into your week...

Today, we explore a powerful reminder that the two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why - a quote often attributed to Unknown but carrying timeless wisdom:

“The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.”

Three key takeaways:

  1. How discovering your 'why' can transform your everyday life.

  2. Four practical steps to help you reflect, reconnect, and align with your purpose.

  3. Why your purpose doesn’t need to be dramatic - and how small daily actions can create meaning.

Listen in and be inspired to create more clarity, alignment, and joy as you move through your week - and your life - on purpose.

As always, I’d LOVE to hear what resonates with you from this episode and what you plan to implement after listening in.

So please share and let’s keep the conversation going in the Dream Life Podcast Facebook Group here.

Have a wonderful weekend …and remember, it all starts with a dream 💛

TRANSCRIPT:

Hi there. Happy Monday, and welcome to another Monday Morning Motivation episode. I hope you have your favorite cup of tea or coffee in hand, or perhaps you're out for a walk and ready to begin another amazing week - a week full of possibility, growth, and purpose.

There's a quote I absolutely love - one that I think we should all pause and reflect on:

“The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.”

The author is unknown, but the truth in those words is timeless. Because once you discover your "why", everything changes. You stop drifting and start designing your life. Your decisions become aligned with who you are and what truly matters. Your why becomes the compass for your dream life.

I remember being 22, wide awake at 3 a.m., having just arrived in Australia, asking myself: “What am I going to do with my life?” I grabbed a pen and paper and started writing down my dreams. That moment - though I didn’t realise it at the time - was the beginning of discovering my why: to do something I love every day.

For me, that’s about inspiring and empowering people to live their dream life. That purpose has guided me through every high and low, every reinvention, and every single Monday morning since.

And I know you have a why, too. It may be hidden beneath your busyness or self-doubt, but it’s there. When you uncover it, it’s like switching on a light - suddenly, everything makes sense.

So how can you start living this quote today? Here are a few powerful steps:

1. Create space for reflection.
You can’t hear your inner voice if your day is full of noise. Carve out 10 minutes of quiet - maybe right after this episode - to journal or simply breathe. Ask yourself: What gives my life meaning? When do I feel most alive? What brings me joy? What would I do if I didn’t have to work for money?

2. Notice your energy.
Your why often hides in what lights you up or what breaks your heart. These emotional signals are breadcrumbs guiding you toward your purpose.

3. Write it down.
I’m a big believer in putting pen to paper - there's real magic in it. Write freely, no editing or overthinking. See what emerges. Sometimes your purpose arrives in a whisper. Sometimes it shows up in bold.

4. Live it in small ways.
You don’t need to quit your job or move countries. Start where you are. If your why is to help others, do one small kind act today. If it’s creativity, make something - even just a quick sketch or a handwritten note. Purpose grows through action.

Remember, your purpose isn’t a final destination. It’s a practice, a direction. It evolves as you evolve. It becomes your anchor - especially when life feels uncertain.

If this message resonates and you’re craving more clarity around your purpose, I’d love to invite you to join me inside the Dream Life Coaching Program this October. We’re dedicating the entire month to discovering your unique why and aligning your life around it - maybe even starting a side hustle or business with it.

We’ll use my Dream Life Method and create a plan that’s deeply meaningful to you. If you’ve been waiting for a sign — maybe this is it. Don’t let another Monday pass without taking one small step toward the life you’re meant to live.

You can learn more at yourdreamlifestartshere.com. I’ll link it for you. And if it feels right, I’d love to see you tonight for our first workshop on purpose.

Remember, you were born for a reason. So reflect on today’s quote:

“The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.”

Every intentional step brings you closer to living that reason beautifully and fully.

Have a wonderful week. Go out and live your why.

I’ll be back on Friday with another episode. See you then.
