Hi and welcome back to your Monday Motivation episode.
I want to start with a simple but powerful quote that’s been sitting with me lately, one that feels especially perfect for a Monday morning:
“We are the choices we make.”
Meryl Streep
Take a breath and let that land.
When you really think about it, this quote is both incredibly empowering and gently confronting. It reminds us that our lives aren’t shaped by one big moment. They’re shaped by the small choices we make every single day.
What we choose to focus on.
What we choose to say yes to.
What we choose to delay.
And what we choose to begin, even when it feels uncomfortable.
Here’s the beautiful part.
If we are the choices we make, then you have far more power than you might think.
Not the power to change everything overnight, but the power to change one small thing today.
So let’s talk about how you can live this quote in a real, practical and kind way.
First, notice your automatic choices.
So many of our choices happen on autopilot. How you start your morning. How you speak to yourself when things don’t go to plan. What you eat, drink, think and say. What you do when you feel tired, overwhelmed or unsure.
This week, I want you to simply notice.
Ask yourself:
Is this choice supporting the life I want to live?
Is this moving me closer to, or further away from, my dream life?
No judgement. Just awareness.
Awareness is always the first step.
Second, choose progress over perfection.
You don’t need to make perfect choices. You just need to make intentional ones.
Choosing to go for a short walk instead of doing nothing.
Choosing to drink one extra glass of water.
Choosing to write one page, make one phone call or take one small step.
These choices may feel insignificant in the moment, but they compound.
Your future self is built quietly, daily, through these choices.
A small, consistent choice will always beat a big, one-off effort.
Third, design your days, not just your dreams.
We often spend so much time dreaming, which I love, but dreams don’t come to life without supportive daily habits.
Your habits are simply choices you repeat.
So ask yourself today:
What kind of person do I want to become?
What choices would that version of me make?
Then choose one habit that supports her. Just one.
When your habits change, your life follows.
