#444 - Life Is Short - Start Creating Your Dream Life Now

Welcome to another short and empowering episode.

Today, we explore the powerful reminder that life is short, and that there is no perfect time to begin creating a life you love:

"Life is short. There is only now."

Three key takeaways:

  1. Why remembering that life is precious can be one of the most motivating mindset shifts of all

  2. How small daily actions can help you stop drifting and start consciously creating your dream life

  3. Why waiting for the right time keeps your dreams further away, and what to do instead

Take this opportunity to learn how to stop postponing what matters most and begin taking meaningful steps toward the life you truly want.

As always, I’d LOVE to hear what resonated most with you - so please share and let’s keep the conversation going in the Dream Life Podcast Facebook Group here.

Have a wonderful weekend …and remember, it all starts with a dream 💛

Hello and welcome.

I want to start with something simple, but incredibly powerful.

Life is short.

Even if we are lucky enough to live a long life.

I know that might sound a little dramatic, but stay with me, because when you really think about it, it is incredibly motivating.

Let me share something that stopped me in my tracks the first time I heard it.

The average human life is around 4,000 weeks.

Four thousand weeks.

That is it.

When you hear it in years, it sounds like a long time.
Eighty years.

But when you think about it in weeks, it feels very different.

4,000 weeks.

And if you are over 50, you have already lived about 2,600 weeks, which means you may have roughly 1,400 weeks left.

Of course, none of us knows exactly how long we will live.

Personally, I dream of living to 120.

And with all the incredible advances in health, wellness and science, who knows, maybe that will be possible.

But even if we live longer, the point remains the same.

Life is precious.

And time is the most valuable resource we have.

The real regret most people have

Something I think about often is this.

When we reach the end of our lives, we rarely regret the things we did wrong.

We do not usually regret the silly things we said or the mistakes we made.

Mistakes are part of being human.

They are how we grow.

They are how we learn.

But what many people do regret is something much deeper.

They regret that they did not truly try to create a life they loved.

They regret not being brave enough.

Not trusting themselves enough.

Not following what was in their heart.

They regret waiting.

Waiting for the right time.

Waiting until life was less busy.

Waiting until they felt more confident.

Waiting until someone gave them permission.

But here is the truth.

There is no perfect time.

There is only now.

And what you choose to do with it.

My own wake-up moment

Many years ago, I had my own moment like this.

I was in my early twenties, living in Australia, far away from my family in Sweden.

One night, around 3am, I woke up feeling completely stuck.

I remember whispering to my partner Paul, “What am I going to do with my life?”

He suggested something that changed everything.

He said, “Grab a pen and paper and write down what your dream life might look like.”

That simple moment, putting my dreams on paper, changed the direction of my entire life.

Because something magical happens when you give yourself permission to dream.

And something even more powerful happens when you start taking action on those dreams.

The line in the sand

So today, I want to invite you to do something powerful.

I want you to imagine drawing a line in the sand, right here, right now, and saying to yourself:

“From this moment forward, I will start creating a life I love.”

Not tomorrow.

Not next year.

Not when things calm down.

Now.

And here is the beautiful thing.

Creating your dream life does not mean quitting your job tomorrow.

Or moving across the world.

Or making huge, dramatic changes overnight.

Your dream life is simply a life that you consciously design.

A life that feels true to you.

A life where your days reflect what matters most.

A life where you are growing, learning, experiencing joy, connection and purpose.

And the way we create that life is one small step at a time.

Because big dreams are built through small daily actions.

What does your dream life look like?

So let me ask you something.

If you were completely honest with yourself, what would your dream life look like?

Not someone else’s version.

Not what society says it should be.

But yours.

Maybe it is:

  • Starting that business you have been thinking about

  • Writing the book that is inside you

  • Travelling somewhere that lights up your soul

  • Prioritising your health and wellbeing

  • Creating deeper relationships

  • Finding work that feels meaningful

  • Having more freedom with your time

Or maybe it is something completely different.

Whatever it is, your dream life is valid.

And it deserves your attention.

The cost of waiting

But here is something important.

Every time we say, “I will start later,” “I will think about it one day,” or “I will do it when life slows down,” we quietly push our dreams further away.

And before we know it, weeks turn into years and years turn into decades.

Remember those 4,000 weeks.

They pass surprisingly quickly.

So instead of asking, “Why is my dream life not happening?” a better question is:

“What is one small step I could take this week?”

Just one.

One conversation.

One idea written down.

One decision.

One action.

Because small steps change everything.

You do not have to do it alone

And here is another thing I have learned over the years.

Trying to create your dream life alone can feel overwhelming.

When you are stuck, it is easy to stay stuck.

But when you surround yourself with inspiration, tools and a supportive community, everything becomes easier.

You gain clarity.

You gain momentum.

And suddenly the dream that once felt impossible starts to feel achievable.

A small invitation

And that is exactly why next week I am hosting a special workshop called:

“Get Unstuck and Start Creating a Life You Love.”

It is designed for anyone who feels like they might be drifting a little, feeling stuck, or sensing that there is something more waiting for them.

In this workshop, I will guide you through simple but powerful exercises to help you:

  • Get clear on what you truly want

  • Identify what has been holding you back

  • Reconnect with your dreams

  • Create practical steps to start moving forward

Because dreaming is beautiful.

But dreaming plus action is where life starts to transform.

And I would absolutely love for you to join me.

Final thought

Before we finish today, I want to leave you with this thought.

You have one life.

One beautiful, precious life.

You have dreams inside you for a reason.

They are not random.

They are whispers from your heart about the life you are meant to live.

So please do not wait.

Draw that line in the sand today.

Take one small step.

And start creating a life you truly love.

Because your dream life, whatever that means for you, can start today.

Thank you so much for listening.

And if this episode resonated with you, I would absolutely love to see you in the workshop next week.

Until next time, keep dreaming and keep doing.
