#467 - Monday Motivation: The second half of the year doesn't write itself. You do

Welcome to another short and empowering episode of Monday Motivation, giving you a dose of inspiration as you head into your week...

Today, we explore the powerful reminder that your future is still unwritten and that you have the power to shape the second half of your year:

'The second half of the year doesn't write itself, you do.'

Three key takeaways you can expect:

  1. Why the first half of the year does not define what is possible for the rest of it.
  2. How a simple 10-minute reflection exercise can create powerful clarity and momentum.
  3. Why clarity, not willpower, is often the key to turning dreams into reality.

Listen in and take the first step towards creating a life you love by intentionally shaping the story you want to tell on New Year's Eve when you look back.

As always, I’d LOVE to hear what resonated most with you - so please share and let’s keep the conversation going in the Dream Life Podcast Facebook Group here.

Have a wonderful weekend …and remember, it all starts with a dream 💛

Hi there, and welcome back to another Monday Motivation episode.

I hope you've found a quiet moment to settle in. Maybe you're walking, driving, enjoying a coffee, or taking a few moments before your day begins.

Whatever you're doing, thank you for choosing to spend the start of your week with me.

I'm especially excited today because it's the first of June. I love when a new month begins on a Monday. It also means we have exactly seven months until the new year, and I always use June to thoughtfully plan the next six months.

If you'd like to do that with me, I'll share more about that shortly.

Here's the quote I want you to reflect on this week:

"The second half of the year doesn't write itself. You do."

Let me say that again.

The second half of the year doesn't write itself. You do.

There is something quietly powerful in those words. If you truly let them sink in, they can change the shape of the next six months of your life.

We are almost halfway through the year, and for many of us, the first half hasn't gone exactly as planned.

Some things have moved forward beautifully. There have been wins, perhaps small and quiet ones, but meaningful nonetheless.

Other things may have drifted.

Dreams, goals, and habits you were excited about in January may have faded into the background as life became busy and demanding.

If that's you, please hear this:

It's completely okay.

It isn't failure.

It's simply life.

Seasons change. Energy shifts. Priorities evolve. Life rarely unfolds in a straight line.

Not for me.

Not for the women I coach.

Not for you.

What matters is remembering this:

The second half of the year is completely unwritten.

It hasn't been decided.

It hasn't been predetermined.

It is not limited by what did or didn't happen during the first six months.

It's a fresh page.

Every Monday.

Every decision.

Every small action.

That's your pen.

And you're holding it.

Not your circumstances.

Not your calendar.

Not your inbox.

Not the people around you.

You.

With all your wisdom, experience and dreams.

You are the author of what comes next.

So I'd love to leave you with something practical.

Take just ten minutes today or tomorrow and write down two things.

First:

What's one thing you want to celebrate from the first half of the year?

It doesn't have to be huge.

Simply acknowledge something you're proud of.

A small win.

A moment of courage.

A promise you kept to yourself.

We are often quick to dismiss our progress.

Today, let's honour it.

Second:

What's one thing you want to be true by December?

Not fifteen things.

Not a long list.

Just one.

One dream.

One change.

One result.

One feeling.

When you reach December 31 and look back on this year, what would you love to be able to say is true?

That's all.

Two reflections.

Ten minutes.

Why does this matter?

Because clarity changes everything.

It's not about motivation.

It's not about willpower.

It's about knowing what truly matters.

When you're clear about where you're heading, every decision becomes easier.

Every week becomes more aligned.

And month by month, the gap between where you are and where you want to be begins to close.

That can be your story too.

All it takes is ten minutes, a journal, and a willingness to begin.

And if you're thinking, "I'd do this better if I wasn't doing it alone," trust that feeling.

The gap between knowing and doing is rarely closed in isolation.

It's often closed through community, support, structure and accountability.

That's exactly what we're focusing on inside Dream Life Coaching throughout June.

June is our Mid-Year Reset Month.

Together, we'll pause, reflect, refocus and intentionally plan the next six months, especially Quarter Three.

If that feels like something you need, I'd love to welcome you.

But whether you join us or not, please don't let this week pass without doing the two-part exercise.

One celebration.

One thing you want to be true by December.

Because the second half of your year is waiting.

And only you can decide what it will become.

As you move through this week, picture yourself on December 31.

Imagine looking back and saying:

"I'm so glad I started."

"I'm so glad I didn't wait."

That future version of you is only six months away.

And she begins with one Monday morning.

And one small act of courage.

Today is that Monday.

Have a beautiful week.

And hopefully I'll see you inside Dream Life Coaching or at our From Overwhelm to Clarity workshop.

If not, I'll be back with you again on Friday.

Until then, have the most wonderful week.
