[00:00:09] Good morning and happy Monday. Welcome to your Monday Morning Motivation episode. I am so happy you're here, and I love that we get to start a fresh week together. I get so much great feedback on the Monday Motivation episodes, and I really, really appreciate it, and, makes me want to keep doing them, so thank you for all the great feedback that you are often giving me.

[00:00:35] I have a quote for you this morning. It's short, and it's a really good reminder that I think we all need this time of year. Here it is: "Time is the only currency you can't earn back. Spend July like you know that." Let me say it one more time, because it's worth hearing twice.

[00:00:59] "Time [00:01:00] is the only currency you cannot earn back. Spend July like you know that." I love that it uses the word currency, because most of us are so careful when it comes to one kind of currency, and so careless with the other. Think about how you treat money. Maybe you check the balance, maybe you notice when it's slipping away.

[00:01:26] maybe you think twice before you spend it on something that does not matter. We are taught from the time we are young to be careful with money. Not all of us, but majority of us. But time, most of us spend it without even looking at the price tag.

[00:01:44] We give whole evenings away to things that does not matter to us, or we do not value, or even worse, we will not remember And we say yes when we mean no, and then quietly resent the hours it costs us. [00:02:00] We tell ourselves we'll get to the things that matter later when things calm down, as if later is guaranteed, as if the hours come back.

[00:02:11] And here is the part that gets me every single time, and it will be no news But really good to hear. Money you can earn back. You can lose it, and you can rebuild it. You can have a hard year and then a better one. but time is the one currency where there is no earning it back. Once this morning is spent, it is spent, and once this month is gone, it is gone.

[00:02:40] You do not get this July coming up twice. Of course, this is not meant to alarm you or frighten you or make you feel bad in any shape or form. It is meant to wake you up gently because when you truly understand that time is the only thing you cannot get more of, [00:03:00] you begin to spend it very differently.

[00:03:03] And of course, you already know this. I just know that most of us, me included, need reminders when it comes to time. So look at that second line again. Spend July like you know that. Not someday, not next year, this coming month, the one that starts in less than two weeks. and what would actually change if you moved through July like you genuinely understood that these four weeks are not coming back?

[00:03:34] I think a few things would change. You would stop saving your best self for some future version of your life, and you would bring her to this one. you would put the things that matters most in your calendar first before the noise rushes in and fills every gap.

[00:03:52] And if it's anything like my calendar, it certainly fills up really quickly. And you would get [00:04:00] a little braver about saying no, because every yes is paid for in the one currency you cannot earn back. So here are three small ways to spend July like you know what it's worth.

[00:04:14] Keep them simple, because it is the small things done consistently that change everything. The first, before the month begin, name the few things that actually matter. Not 40 things, choose three, and maybe a few more if you really have to, but just start with the most important three.

[00:04:35] Three things that if you gave July to them would make you proud when you look back in August. Write them down somewhere you will see them. For me, July is all about family, friends, and nature, because I'll be in Sweden, and these three things are my priorities when I'm there. To see my family, to see my friends, and to enjoy the nature.

[00:04:58] I absolutely [00:05:00] love Swedish summer. I love Swedish nature, so they will be my priorities. Yes, I will be working. I will be coaching every Monday as always. I'll be running my book club, all of those things. But my top priorities will not wait until all the work is done because for me, and I'm sure for you as well, work never runs out.

[00:05:21] So I will turn that around and book in plenty of time with family, my friends, and beautiful walks in nature Which brings me to the second one I wanna talk about. Protect your top three first. Open your calendar and put those few things in before everything else floods in.

[00:05:43] Most of us do it backwards. We let the urgent fill the week, and then we try to squeeze in what matters with whatever is left. Flip it and pay yourself first in time. And then the third one, once a week, ask yourself one quiet question: [00:06:00] Am I spending my time or am I just letting it leak away? and if you find a leak, could be a habit, a scroll, a commitment that gives you nothing back, gently close it.

[00:06:12] You are not finding more time. You are choosing where it goes.Name a few and then protect them first. plug one leak. For me, the leaks in the past, it's no longer a leak, but it was in the past, was checking my emails constantly, looking at the news updates constantly, even looking at television shows. not for many, many years, but it definitely, if I got hooked on one show, that definitely took a lot of my time. they are some of the leaks that I have actually plugged. and once you do that, that is a month spent like you know exactly what it is worth. I wanna say one more thing before I let you go, because it ties together so beautifully.

[00:06:59] [00:07:00] Time and money are both currencies. One you can earn back, and one you cannot. And the real freedom, the kind that lets you spend your time on what truly matters, very often comes from getting clear and a little courageous about the other one. This is exactly what we turn to next month inside the Dream Life Coaching program.

[00:07:23] July is all about your relationship with money and time.

[00:07:27] And when it comes to money, not a source of stress, but as a tool. the tool that quietly buys back your time and hands you your choices. Because when money serves your life instead of running it, you get to spend your hours on the people and the dreams that actually matter.

[00:07:46] that to me is freedom. Freedom to have choices. That is what financial freedom to me is all about. It's not about having lots of money in the bank. It's about serving the [00:08:00] life that I want, and also to really enjoy it and not wait until I'm 65. That was kind of the old way of doing things.

[00:08:10] If something in you is nodding along to that, I would just say notice it, and then if you want, there is a small group of women stepping into July together to do exactly this work with a group of like-minded people in Dream Life Coaching program. If it feels right for you, we would love to have you with us.

[00:08:30] Just head over to dreamlifestartshere.com. I'll link to it in the show notes as well. But for today, keep it simple. Here is the question for the week: If time really is the one currency you cannot earn back, what is one thing you will stop spending it on, and one thing you will finally start? So many of us are wasting time on things that will not move you closer to [00:09:00] dream life.

[00:09:01] Think devices, think news, think people that drains you. I can go on and on. Sit with that one on your walk, your commute, whatever you're doing when you're listening to this podcast this morning, and then choose, because July is coming either way.

[00:09:18] The only question is whether you spend it on purpose. Time is the only currency you cannot earn back, So let us spend July like we know that. As always, I'll be back on Friday with another episode. I'll see you then.
