487: Monday Motivation: The Last 90 Days Decide Your Year

Welcome to another short but empowering episode of Monday Motivation, giving you a dose of inspiration as you head into your week...
Today, we explore the idea behind a simple mantra for finishing the year with intention:
‘The last 90 days of the year decide your year.’
Three key takeaways you can expect:
1. Why the way you finish can matter more than the excitement of how you begin.
2. How choosing one meaningful finish line can replace vague pressure with clarity.
3. Why small weekly actions, repeated consistently, can build momentum and self-trust.
Listen in and give your focus somewhere meaningful to go, so you can move towards a strong finish and a life you love.
As always, I’d LOVE to hear what resonated most with you - so please share and let’s keep the conversation going in the Dream Life Podcast Facebook Group here.
Have a wonderful week …and remember, it all starts with a dream 💛

Kristina: Hi there. Happy Monday, and welcome back to your Monday Motivation episode. I am so glad you are here with me to start your week.
I want to give you one idea to carry into this week, and it is a big one: the last 90 days of the year decide your year.
Let that land for a moment. The last 90 days of the year decide your year.
I know we are not at the end of the year yet, but I like to start thinking about this now. If you plan each quarter as I do, you can have everything ready for the final quarter. I start thinking about it now, plan it in September and, when October arrives, I am ready to go with my plan.
We put so much weight on January, the fresh start and the big resolutions. But the way your year turns out has far more to do with how you finish than how you begin. The finish is closer than you think, and it starts right now.
Around this time of year, many people start winding down. I see it all the time. They tell themselves the year is basically done by the final quarter and that they will become serious again in the new year.
They coast through the final quarter. That is understandable because December can be very full, with many things that need to happen. It is easy to talk ourselves into giving up on the final quarter.
Of course, that is wonderful news for you because it means the finish line is wide open, if you see it as a competition. I know you probably do not, but I love a little competition with myself and enjoy gamifying things.
While many people are drifting, you get to decide on purpose how you want this year to end. That is exciting.
Picture two versions of your December.
In the first, you reach the end of the year feeling tired and a little flat, carrying that familiar thought: “Where did the year go? I meant to do so much more and have so much more energy at the end of the year.”
In the second, you reach December feeling proud. You finished what you started. You kept a promise to yourself. You walk into the new year with real momentum and energy behind you.
They are the same 90 days, but they create a completely different year and a completely different feeling.
I know which December I would love you to have, and I have a feeling you know which one you want for yourself. You probably would not be here on a Monday morning, giving your week a proper start, if that did not matter to you.
The difference between those two Decembers comes down to one decision. It is a decision you can make today, at the beginning of this week: the decision to steer instead of drift.
Here is what I would love you to do. Just one thing. Pick the finish line that matters most to you. Choose the single thing that, if you did it before the year was over, would make you feel really proud.
Perhaps it is a goal you set in January that is still waiting for you. Perhaps it is your health and energy. If you focus on that, you may have more energy for other things. We spoke a lot about that last month.
Perhaps it is a project, a dream or a conversation you keep putting off. Choose the one that makes your heart beat a little faster.
When we think about it, most of us know what it is. Sometimes we do not want to say it aloud because that means we will need to do something about it.
Next, write it down somewhere you will see it. Put it on a sticky note, in your journal, on your phone or perhaps on the bathroom mirror. Place it somewhere it will catch your eye every day between now and December.
The things we keep in front of us are the things we move towards.
It is such a simple idea, but it really works. Do not underestimate how much lighter the run to Christmas can feel when you have one clear thing to move towards. It takes away that vague, nagging pressure because your focus finally has somewhere to go.
That is the gift of clarity. It makes everything feel more doable.
That is all you need this morning: one finish line, written down and in sight. You do not need the whole plan yet. You simply need to know what you are aiming at. Progress, not perfection. Everything else can grow from there.
I have watched this happen so many times over the years, both in the coaching program and in my own experience.
The people who finish their year strongly are not necessarily the ones with the most time or the least on their plate. They are the ones who choose something to aim for and keep showing up for it in small ways, week after week.
That can be you, starting today.
Here is my question for you this Monday: When you picture yourself in December looking back over the year, what is the one thing you want to be able to say you did?
Let that question sit with you on your walk this morning, during your drive or over your coffee. Give it a little space and let the answer come. When it does, you have found your finish line.
If you are not sure where you are standing right now, I have made something to help you see it clearly, and it is live today.
It is a free scorecard called How on Track Are You to Finish 2026? It takes about three minutes and shows you where you are with three months to go, including where your energy and focus might be slipping away without you realising.
It is a helpful way to begin this final stretch. You will find the link in the episode. Give it three minutes and you will have started.
All right, pick your finish line, write it down and keep it where you can see it. Let us make these last 90 days the ones that decide your year in the best possible way.
Have a beautiful week. As always, I will be back on Friday with another episode. I will see you then.
