Act As If It’s Already Yours: The Secret to Manifesting Your Dream Life

This stopped me in my tracks recently,a powerful line from Gabrielle Bernstein:

“Act as if what you intend to manifest is already yours. Make space for it. Expect it. Let go of how it’ll happen.”

Isn’t that powerful?

It made me pause and want to share it with you.

Because those words hold such a powerful truth—and if you’re on the journey of creating your dream life like I am, then this message is for you too.

In this recent Monday Motivation podcast episode, I explore how to step into this energy fully—and how you can begin your week living from a place of trust, expansion, and joyful expectation.

✨ What Manifestation Really Means

Manifestation isn’t about wishful thinking or just dreaming without action. It’s about aligning with the version of yourself who already has what she desires. It’s stepping into the energy of being instead of waiting.

Whether your dream is to start your own business, fall in love, write a book, move to a new city, or simply feel more fulfilled in your everyday life—this quote reminds us that the shift begins within.

Let’s break it down into four simple but powerful steps you can start using today.


1. Act As If It’s Already Yours

This first step isn’t about pretending or faking it—it’s about embodying your dream.

How would you feel if you were already living your dream life?
What kind of decisions would you make?
How would you speak, show up, and carry yourself?

One of my favourite practices is to journal each morning with this prompt:

“If I had already manifested my dream, how would I show up today?”

It’s such a simple question—but it completely changes the energy you bring to your day.

When you start acting as if it’s already yours, you send a powerful message to the universe (and to yourself) that you’re ready.

You create momentum.

And that momentum leads to action—and magic 💫


2. Make Space for It

We all say we want more—more clarity, abundance, connection, inspiration—but have we actually created room for it?

Making space is such an underrated but essential part of manifestation. It can be as literal as clearing out a drawer or as emotional as releasing limiting beliefs.

So ask yourself:

  • What am I holding onto that’s taking up space in my life?

  • What clutter—physical or emotional—needs to go?

  • What outdated beliefs am I ready to let go of?

Clearing space is an act of trust.

It says, “I believe something beautiful is coming. And I’m ready to receive it.”


3. Expect It

This is one of the most important steps.

Expectation changes everything.

When you expect good things to come your way, you naturally start to shift how you behave.

You take bolder steps.

You notice opportunities.

You align your actions with your vision.

I encourage you to write this affirmation on a post-it or in your journal:

“This or something even better is already on its way to me.”

Say it aloud. Feel it in your heart.

Watch how your energy transforms when you move through your day from a place of faith instead of fear.


4. Let Go of the How

I’ll be honest—this step is the hardest for me.

I’m a planner. I love structure. But if there’s one lesson I’ve learned over and over again, it’s this: the magic happens when you let go of how things “should” unfold.

When I manifested my dream of moving to Sydney this year, I had no idea how it would happen. It took time. The journey was far from linear. But it happened in the most unexpected way.

So now, when I feel myself getting too caught up in the logistics, I remind myself to focus on the what and the why—and let the universe handle the how.

The right people, the right timing, and the right resources will come. Always.

  1. What do I desire to manifest right now?

  2. If I already had it, how would I feel and act today?

  3. Where can I make space for this to come in?

  4. How can I release control and trust the journey?
