#364 - INSPIRATION FRIDAYS – A RITUAL TO FILL YOUR CUP

I’m so excited to share this week’s episode. It’s something close to my heart – a simple but powerful ritual I call Inspiration Fridays.
Years ago, when my kids were in primary school, I started making my Friday mornings sacred.
I’d go to their school assembly (which were always full of courage, creativity and pure joy), then I’d treat myself to coffee at a beautiful Melbourne café, often with a friend or mentor – or just my journal.
These moments sparked ideas, filled me up, and reconnected me with what really matters. It became my way of hitting the reset button.
Every week.
Like many things, this beautiful ritual faded during COVID – but now that I’m living my dream life in stunning Sydney, I’ve brought it back… and it’s better than ever.
In this episode, I’m sharing the full story and giving you a behind-the-scenes look at how I create time for inspiration every week.
Whether it’s a beautifully designed café, a Pilates class, or a peaceful nature walk, I’ve made it non-negotiable to fill my cup – and I want to inspire you to do the same.
In this ep, you’ll learn:
-
Why filling your cup is not a luxury – but a necessity.
-
How to create your own version of Inspiration Friday.
-
Simple journaling prompts to help you reconnect with what energises you.
-
The magic of aligning with your values and why that changes everything.
If you’re ready to feel more like you, then grab your journal, tune in, and let’s dream big – one Friday at a time 💛
As always, I’d LOVE to hear what resonates with you from this episode and what you plan to implement after listening in. So please share and let’s keep the conversation going in the Dream Life Podcast Facebook Group here.
Have a wonderful weekend 💛

TRANSCRIPT:
Hi there, it’s Kristina here. Welcome back to Your Dream Life podcast.
Today I want to talk about something really close to my heart – something simple, yet incredibly powerful. It’s a ritual I created a few years ago called Inspiration Fridays.
Back when my kids were in primary school, if I was in town (I did travel quite a lot), I made it a non-negotiable to attend their school assembly every Friday. If you're a parent, you’ll understand the joy of seeing your kids – or their friends – get up and perform or speak with courage and creativity. It was always such an uplifting experience.
I would walk away from those assemblies feeling so inspired, filled with hope – not just for their futures, but also for my own. I often brought my journal and jotted down ideas sparked by the energy of those mornings.
After the assembly, I’d jump in my car and head to a beautiful café. Melbourne, where I was living at the time, is full of inspiring cafes with beautiful interiors, innovative breakfasts, and, of course, amazing coffee. And if you're a regular listener, you know how much I love coffee!
Sometimes, I’d sit alone with my coffee, breakfast, and journal, reflecting. But most Fridays, I’d meet someone inspiring – a friend, a mentor, or someone doing interesting things in the world. These mornings became such a nourishing ritual. That’s where my ideas flowed – for business, products, content – everything.
Inspiration Fridays filled my cup. They lit me up. They made me feel alive and aligned.
Then COVID happened, and like many of us, I lost some of the rituals that brought me joy.
But recently, after making a big dream come true and moving to beautiful Sydney, I knew it was time to bring back my Inspiration Fridays. And I have.
Now, if I’m not traveling – although just last week I did one in Melbourne! – I make the time, no matter where I am. If I’m in Sydney, I hop into my beautiful Volvo EX30, which I absolutely love. There’s something magical about getting into a clean, beautifully designed car, playing something inspiring or enjoying a quiet moment, and heading somewhere that lifts my soul.
The journey has become just as joyful as the destination.
I’ve also signed up to ClassPass, so I might start the day with a Pilates or yoga class somewhere new. Like cafes, many studios are beautifully designed and calming. Then I treat myself to a café I haven’t tried yet – sometimes alone with my journal, sometimes with someone inspiring.
I usually plan these Fridays in advance. But if I wake up and feel like skipping yoga for a nature walk, I give myself that freedom. Sometimes I do both! I crave nature constantly, and luckily there are so many stunning places to walk in Sydney – and everywhere, really. I just love walking.
In fact, this Friday – the very day this episode is released – I’m meeting Simon Reynolds, who is incredibly inspiring. I already know I’ll walk away with a full heart and a journal full of new ideas.
Simon has been on my podcast before, so if you haven’t listened to that episode, definitely do! He was also a guest speaker in our Dream Life Coaching Program last year – and maybe the year before too – and people absolutely loved his session. He’s amazing.
So why am I sharing all this with you today?
Because life isn’t meant to be just a long list of must-dos. Yes, your to-do list matters. But so does your want-to-do list. We often forget how important it is to feel inspired – to pause, to connect, and to fill our cup.
For me, Inspiration Fridays do just that. They help my personal life and my business. It’s a total win-win.
So, let me ask you:
What fills your cup?
What inspires you and makes you feel connected – to yourself, your values, your purpose, and your dreams?
Because that is the key.
And if you’re unsure where to begin, here’s a little journaling exercise you can try this weekend:
Grab your Dream Life journal and write down:
-
What are five things that gave me energy last month?
-
What are five things that depleted me?
-
What am I craving more of in my life right now?
-
If I had one full day just for me each week, what would I do?
Now, I totally get that not everyone can carve out a whole day. It doesn't have to be a full Friday morning. It could start with just 30 minutes. Whatever works for you – whatever fills your cup.
I’m sharing what I do not to prescribe, but to inspire you to create your version of an Inspiration Friday.
And if you're not clear on your values, that’s your starting point. Do that work. I have an entire module on values in my Your Dream Life Starts Here course, because knowing your values changes everything.
Here’s the thing:
When you live in alignment with your values – when you do the things that nourish your soul – you feel more like you. And when you feel more like yourself, everything else flows more easily.
So whether it’s Friday, Wednesday, or Sunday morning, think about what your own version of Inspiration Friday could look like.
Journal about it.
Reflect on it.
And if you’d like a little behind-the-scenes peek into my rituals, come follow along at @kristinadreamlife on Instagram and TikTok. I share lots of snippets from my weekly rituals and the inspiring people I meet.
I truly hope this episode has sparked something inside you today. Because when we make space for inspiration, life becomes richer, clearer, and more magical.
As always, I’ll be back on Monday with another Monday Morning Motivation episode.
I’ll see you then 💛
