Hi there, and welcome back to another Monday Morning Motivation episode.
Today I want to start with a quote I absolutely love—one that’s stayed with me for years. Maybe today, it’s exactly the message you need to hear.
The quote goes like this:
“Lack of direction, not lack of time, is the problem. We all have twenty-four hour days.” — Zig Ziglar
I love this quote because it’s so true for all of us. We all get the same 24 hours—Oprah has 24 hours, your neighbour has 24 hours, I do, and you do.
So if that’s the case, why do some people seem to be building their dream life, while others feel like they’re just spinning in circles, trying to keep up? The truth is, most of us don’t have a time problem. We have a direction problem.
The good news? That’s something we can change.
Today, I want to share a few simple, practical steps you can take right now to bring more direction and alignment into your week.
Step 1: Reconnect with What Really Matters
Before you dive into anything else this week, ask yourself: What does a dream life look like—just for me? Not what society says, not what your friends are doing, but what you truly want.
Where do you want to be heading? Take a few minutes to open your journal. Light a candle, pour a cup of tea—whatever feels good—and get honest with yourself.
Step 2: Choose Just One Focus
You don’t need a 47-step plan today. You just need one clear direction.
What’s one area of your life you’d love to make progress in by the end of this week?
Maybe it’s your health, a creative project, more time for yourself, or starting a business. Pick one and write it down.
Then ask: What’s one small step I can take today to move in that direction?
And remember—it’s progress, not perfection, that gets you started.
Step 3: Protect Your Time Like It Matters
Because it does. Let’s be real—how often do we say yes to everything and everyone except our own dreams?
If you’ve picked one focus for the week, treat it like an important appointment. Block out 30 minutes (or more) in your calendar just for you. And don’t just block it—actually show up for yourself.
This is how you shift from “busy” to “intentional.”
Step 4: Reflect and Reset
This doesn’t have to be complicated. Each evening, simply ask yourself: Did I move in the direction I wanted today? If not, what got in the way?
Then gently adjust tomorrow. You don’t need to be perfect—you just need to be awake to the choices you’re making. Too many of us are on autopilot.
